Why is a former Ron Paul aide and self-proclaimed “libertarian” voting for Donald Trump, who wants to shut down the internet?
Eric Dondero, who was a Congressional aide to Rep. Ron Paul from 1997-2003, tweeted that he was a libertarian who was supporting Trump. As I noted, there is one problem with his assertion:
You ain't a libertarian, either, if u support Chump. Libertarians support freedom of speech. https://t.co/JhWUwqDUSn https://t.co/5X4NWD1jst

Dondero said he thought Trump was anti-PC:
@MitchBlatt Freedom of Speech includes opposition to Political Correctness. Who's best candidate to oppose PC? Right! Gotcha!!!

As I have written before, Trump isn’t anti-political correctness. In fact, he gets offended all the time and tries to suppress speech. He is, as I said, the SJW candidate.
Anyone who wants to sue newspapers for reporting factual news stories and have the FCC fine dissidents is by definition not anti-PC and not pro-free speech.
At the end of the post, I will include a long list of examples of Trump’s politically correct positions, but first, my response:
.@DonderolibtR 1.) Shutting down the internet isn't compatible with free speech.
— Mitchell Blatt (@MitchBlatt) January 23, 2016
.@DonderolibtR 2.) Getting offended all the time and threatening to sue journalists isn't anti-PC. It's the exact opposite.

Now for some detailed examples of Trump being PC after getting offended:
- He wants the FCC to fine people with whom he disagrees for saying “balls” on TV.
- He threatened to sue the Washington Post for writing about how he bankrupt the Taj Mahal casino.
- He filed (and withdrew) a $5 million lawsuit against Bill Maher for telling a joke about him.
- He sued (and lost) journalist Timothy O’Brien for reporting his net worth as being over $100 million rather than in the billions, as he claims it is.
- Undeterred by losing that suit, he threatened to sue MSNBC host Lawrence O’Donnell for the same reason.
- He threatened to sue Rosie O’Donnell for calling him bankrupt.
- He got offended when National Review columnist Jonah Goldberg made fun of Trump for “tweeting like a 14-year-old girl” and called it “insult[ing] to women” to compare a hypothetical girl’s tweeting to that of Trump.
- He expressed offense that Jeb Bush pointed out many birth tourists come from China and Asian countries. “Asians are very offended,” the anti-PC candidate said.
- After journalist Megyn Kelly asked him (and other candidates) questions at a debate, he attacked Megyn Kelly for asking questions of him. He said she was “bleeding” from “whereever.”
- He threatened to sue rapper Mac Miller for making a song that referenced Donald Trump.
- He threatened a tee shirt company that mocked him.
- He threatened to sue John Kasich for running ads against him.
- He threatened to sue the Club for Growth for running ads against him.
- He threatened to sue a Bush supporter for running ads against him.
No one can call themselves pro-free speech of anti-PC if they support Donald Trump.
